Reissuance of a Japanese Patent Certificate (Registration Certificate)

In Korea, when a patent, trademark, or design is transferred to another party (another corporation), the patent certificate (registration certificate) is reissued in the name of the transferee, that is, the current right holder.

In Japan, however, even when a right is transferred, it is reissued only in the name of the originally registered right holder.

It would be wonderful if the new transferee could have a registration certificate or patent certificate in their own name… but I myself do not know why this is the case in Japan.

If I ever get the chance, I intend to ask the people at the Japan Patent Office about it sometime.
