Today we updated all pages in the “Japan IP Information” section to reflect Japan’s latest systems, with a cleaner, easier-to-read design.

Trademark — Consent system introduced (Apr 2024); relaxed requirements for marks containing others’ names

Design — Protection of image/building/interior designs; term “25 years from filing” (2020 major amendment)

Patent — AI inventorship ruling (2025); digitalization of patent certificates (Apr 2026)

Trials & Litigation — Evidence-collection (Sasho) system (2020); enhanced damages calculation rules (2019)
